The REALITY of Entrepreneurship.

Entrepreneurship is a lonely journey filled with ups, downs, and a few directions you never knew existed. But is it your journey?

This is probably one of the most important questions that you'll need to answer for yourself by the time you reach the end of this post or before you decide to jump into this line of work. There's a lot of people out there with good profitable money making ideas. Some jump into this game and are very successful while some others fail and most of the time it's at the expense of giving up too soon. It's not that they're not good at what they're doing; they just get discouraged easily and quit. With that being said, my goal today is to give you the God Honest truth about what entrepreneurship and side hustling really is. I'm sure a lot of people have their own opinions about this topic and that's okay. Today, I'm speaking from my own perspective and my own personal experiences.

Clearly, I am an Entrepreneur. I absolutely LOVE all the perks that come with it: being my own boss, working from the comfort of my own home, setting my own hours, taking breaks and vacays as I please. If I need to take a "sick day" I can do that too without having to give anyone an explanation for it. One of the things I like the most about being in this business is that the sky is the limit when it comes to my salary. Depending on how hard I work, I can make all the money I want! I may have to pay the expenses of keeping the business going but I also get to keep all of the profit and that's the best part! Of course there are way more benefits; that was just a highlight of some of my own personal favs!

Now I have to be honest.. entrepreneurship isn't always sunshine and rainbows. Sometimes it rains cats and damn dogs!

The reality of it is that you will absolutely have your ups and downs on this journey. You'll encounter seasons when business is slow and even worse, a drop in sales. There'll be times when you're broke from investing money into advertising your products through social media (for example) yet and still you see no sales from it. You're gonna have moments where you come up with ideas that seem amazing to YOU but for some reason it doesn't seem to catch the eye of other people the way you expected it to.

You'll totally feel overwhelmed at times and as an entrepreneur, that's just a part of it. During my own journey, I can definitely say that entrepreneurial ventures can have a way of bringing about a whole new different  kind of stress. Instead of an employee, YOU are responsible for all decisions. If you fail or succeed, customers, vendors, employees, and others are looking at you. So just as you can be looked at as a “leader”, you can also be looked as a fool. With that being said, you have to be very wise about the choices you make and even in how you choose to respond to certain situations.

Last but not least, entrepreneurship is all about SACRIFICE, especially in the beginning. Ask any entrepreneur how they got to where they are and I guarantee you none of them will say it happened overnight. The famous quote,

is so true! Sure, it's cliche and a little played out but it most certainly holds true to the journey entrepreneurs must take in order to reach their desired level of success. You'll have to make sacrifices whether you like it or not, even as a side hustler .... you still have to spend money in order to actually make money! There's definitely more to it than just the financial investments but we'll discuss that later. I just wanted to share that with you because it is crucially a very important requirement for success in this game.

In the end, like with any other job, there are advantages of being an entrepreneur and disadvantages. For me, the advantages of being an entrepreneur soundly outweigh the disadvantages but not everyone agrees and that's okay! I truly hope that this blog post have given you clarification on what this line of work is really about. It comes with some AMAZING benefits, like I wouldn't trade this life nothing, but at the same time, it's not always as glamorous as some people try to make it seem! Thanks for visiting my blog today! If you're ready to go forward with this... I'll see you on the next post!
